Is squeaking or noise normal?
It depends on the type of squeaking or noise you’re hearing. All our Nano reformers are designed for smooth, quiet movement when properly installed and maintained.
Soft spring sounds during resistance changes are normal. A persistent squeak, especially one that gets louder during use, may indicate that a moving part needs cleaning, adjustment, or appropriate lubrication. The sound alone does not necessarily indicate a structural defect. Please share a short video so our team can identify the source and recommend the right solution.
When and how to lubricate
Lubricate the carriage rails and spring hooks every 60–90 days under regular home use, or every 30 days for boutique or studio use. Apply a thin, even coat of a food-grade silicone or PTFE-based lubricant along the full length of each rail. Wipe away any excess before your session.
Never use WD-40, petroleum-based oils, or household cooking sprays — these degrade the rail coating and cushion material over time.
Carriage and spring checks
Before each session, run the carriage the full length of the frame at low resistance and listen for any grinding or catching. Monthly, inspect each spring hook for visible wear, corrosion, or deformation, and ensure all spring loops seat fully and symmetrically on their pegs.
A carriage that feels uneven side-to-side usually indicates a mismatched spring load — try rebalancing across the same color and resistance group before your next use.
Compatible maintenance products
We recommend the Pilates Reformer Care Bundle – Clean, Sanitize & Protect (AC00511) — formulated specifically for reformer rails, springs, and oak frames. The bundle includes a surface sanitizer safe for upholstery and shoulder blocks, a wood conditioner for the oak frame, and a spring protectant.
Do not use abrasive cloths or alcohol-based sprays directly on the cushioning.
When to contact support
Contact our support team if:
- A squeak persists after lubrication.
- A spring shows visible deformation or won’t seat correctly.
- The carriage catches or skips at any point along the rail.
- Any structural hardware — bolts, end caps, or frame joints — appears loose or cracked.

One of the hand holds for straps was pre stripped and will not tighten. I got an email sent out , however pictures were asked for, then a video. Everything else went together smooth, I would have thought for the price paid a new hand hold which worked would be shipped out imediately for a new customer.
I do live the videos and enjoy using it, however still struggling to see how or where to purchase hand grip that works, since the one that arrived with unit will not tighten.
